We employ proprietary methods for cleaning the membrane companion plate drainage surface and all residue that is built-up on the surface and porting holes is removed. Filtrate drainage is significantly improved and customers confirm that, after our plate refurbishment, the cake moisture content is lower in service than prior to refurbishment. Damaged area and cracks are hear-welded to retain the plate’s original strength.
Experts in Providing A Different Plate Design to Better Suit Customer Requirements
While we offer many configurations, every configuration is obviously not optimal for every situation. For instance, while corner feed with no stay bosses in the filtration area provides ideal filtration in some situations, we have a high degree of experience in changing plate design to Center Feed from both Top Corner Feed and Bottom Corner Feed. By increasing the diameter of the feed hole in the center feed design, the velocity of the filtrate in this area is reduced, thereby reducing neck abrasion. Micronics specifically has experience in doing such plate design conversions while keeping your original press structure and existing press features and we look forward to discussing these sorts of opportunities for reducing neck wear/premature failure with you.
Experts in Inventory Management Programs

Micronics is adept at working with customers on developing a sound filter plate & filter cloth inventory management program to ensure that you are never caught without adequate replacement stock because, let’s face it, things do happen. As customers know, filter plates are custom-fabricated/molded items and have long lead times so proper attention to maintaining the proper inventory of replacement plates is critical to avoid costly shut-downs. For instance, aggressive mine tailings and mineral concentrate applications can result in damaged plates due to either excessive air blow down or failed filter cloths, which can allow the feed slurry to scour the plates. Similarly out of balance pressures can cause warping and cracking of the filter plates and may require them to be replaced. Did you know that using filter press cloths of different permeabilities or filtration characteristics within the plate stack can lead to out-of-balance filter plate pressures? Micronics works with each and every customer individually to determine the best inventory management solutions, both for filter press cloth and for filter plates.
