Micronics is the flagship filtration brand and was the basis for the name, the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group. Micronics was incorporated in 1983 and became a portfolio company of Vance Street Capital in 2013.

Micronics is a worldwide expert in liquid-solid separation and is a renowned authority on filter press cloth, the key foundation to optimizing any filter press operation. Liquid-solid separation expert, Micronics, began building its dry filtration pillar in late 2015 and throughout 2016.

Chris Cummins became Micronics’ President and CEO in April 2020. Micronics’ HQ and filter cloth manufacturing shifted from Portsmouth, NH to centrally-located Chattanooga, TN in 2020, and filter press operations shifted from Dover, NH to the centrally-located Advanced Technology Center in Chattanooga, TN, USA in 2021.

In 2025, Micronics was acquired by Cleanova and Chris Cummins became President and CEO of Cleanova.

SOLAFT^® Filtration Solutions joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in December 2023. Solaft was originally founded in Australia in 1966 as Albany Filtration Technologies.  Solaft brought innovative industrial filtration solutions capabilities to the Group with in-house design; in-house textile laboratories, analytical services, R&D facilities; and world-class manufacturing and distribution operations in Australia, Brazil, China, and India.

Solaft has strong IP and a growing pipeline of respected dry filtration, liquid filtration, and pneumatic conveying products and brands – including the well-known SOLAFT^® StarBag™ and SOLAFT^® PrimaFlow™ – for which Micronics had been the exclusive distributor for North America.

Solaft began operations in Brazil in 1972. In 2005, Solaft opened a factory in China with a yarn plant, looms, and fabrication equipment, and became the first company to supply pulse-jet filter bags to the Chinese coal-fired power generation sector. In 2022, Solaft opened a factory in India.

In 2023, Solaft acquired PTronik with its smart dust and air controllers for remote monitoring.

National Filter Media (“NFM”) joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in February 2022. For over a century, the NFM® brand has been associated with excellence in Engineered Filtration Solutions, including pressure filtration, vacuum filtration, and air pollution control solutions.

The NFM® brand is also known for long-standing customer partnerships and custom solutions to maximize operating performance and lower cost-of-ownership.

The NFM brand is associated with excellence in vacuum filtration solutions for liquid-solid separation. These include Horizontal Belt Vacuum Filters, Disc Vacuum Filter Systems, and Rotary Drum Vacuum Filters.

The Micronics Engineered Filtration Group acquired AFT^® from FLSmidth in July 2023. The AFT^® filter bag operation was started by FLSmidth in 1999 in Augusta, GA, initially to support FLSmidth OEM baghouse installations globally with high-quality filter bags. AFT^® quickly grew to be a leading supplier for aftermarket applications throughout the world.

The AFT^® brand is well-regarded in a range of demanding industries including cement, lime, coal-fired power utilities, energy-from-waste, metals, mining, minerals, chemicals, and steel facilities. For these industries, the AFT^® brand meets or exceeds customer demands for high-temperature, high-performance fabrics – including hydroentangled felts – for maintaining stringent environmental compliance requirements.

Southern Filter Media (“SFM”) proudly joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in December 2014. It was the first of the acquisitions that began building up the Group’s Dry Filtration/Baghouse Solutions capabilities for Air Pollution Control.

SFM has been an industry-leading supplier of filter bags for OEMs and end-users – for all styles of baghouses. The SFM brand is associated with old-fashioned, great customer service, deep baghouse filter bag expertise, textile know-how, and filter media expertise.

With the SFM brand,  customers can be assured that they will meet demanding environmental compliance requirements for their baghouse.

Founded in suburban Chicago, C.P. Environmental (“CPE”) has been proudly serving the pollution control industry across the USA since 1972.

C.P. Environmental (“CPE”) joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in March 2015, the second of the dry filtration acquisitions, building up the dry capabilities pillar – particularly dry service – for the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group.

The CPE brand is known in the industry for its outstanding Baghouse Services including complete filter bag changeouts, baghouse inspections, high-efficiency cleaning (HEC), 24-hour emergency services, and baghouse mechanical/steel repairs. We are extremely proud of the CPE legacy of great people providing baghouse facilities with industry-leading Baghouse Maintenance & Repair Services.

Customers have consistently relied on Micronics & the CPE brand to help meet increasingly stringent air quality regulations from the EPA, NAAQS, and OSHA regarding dust collection, particulate matter, and combustible metal dust.

Action Filtration (Action) proudly joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in November 2024. Its roots date back over 35 years to 1989, and since then, Action has become a leading aftermarket manufacturer of high-quality replacement pleated bag filters, dust collection cartridges, filter bags for industrial air pollution control, and blast cabinet gloves.

Customers have come to count on the Action team for its reliable manufacturing operations, high-quality products, technical support, fast and accurate lead times, and quick, friendly, and efficient customer service. Action is proud of its Midwest roots, people, and location for meeting customers’ exacting aftermarket needs.

Being quick and nimble is a shared value with Micronics, and we are thrilled to welcome our teammates in Hope, Indiana, to Micronics, and the Cleanova Group.

United Process Control (“UPC”) joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in September 2015.

The UPC brand has been well known in the industry for excellence in Baghouse Solutions including complex mechanical and steel repairs, inspections, bag changeouts, supply of filter bags, baghouse parts and accessories, and custom baghouse conversions, upgrades, expansions, and baghouse improvements.

The UPC brand is particularly well-known in the eastern and southern parts of the U.S.

Filterfab joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in February 2022, along with NFM.

Fiterfab is a trusted engineered filtration solutions provider with operations in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec.

Since 1967, the Filterfab brand has represented excellence in filter bag manufacturing for the North American Dust/Air Pollution Control market.

AeroPulse joined the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group in August 2015 and the legacy of providing customers with excellent, customized APC engineering and design solutions for baghouses has continued under the Micronics Engineered Filtration banner. Operationally, the AeroPulse brand was subsumed under CPE.

The AeroPulse® brand of Pulse-Jet Baghouses has been providing excellent, reliable, and efficient dust collector performance since 1980. Longstanding AeroPulse® customers know that the AeroPulse bag assembly utilizes the “Twist Lock” venturi for ease of bag removal. AeroPulse® brand baghouse designs allow for easy maintenance using “true top bag removal,” which eliminates the need for workers to enter the collector to change bags, and eliminates space requirements for internal catwalks.

National Filter Media (“NFM”) acquired the intellectual, production, and engineering assets for Midwesco Filter in June 2016. Midwesco was a well-known filtration brand and had a very strong legacy in Dry Filtration.

Though Midwesco was previously absorbed into NFM, we make mention of Midwesco® here because we place a high degree of value on brand equity as part of the Micronics Engineered Filtration Group!
