Baghouse Solutions Utilizing Depth (Conventional) Filtration

Depth filtration, also known as the 1st generation of filter media, is designed to filter out particulates by building an initial dust cake that is maintained on the filter bag.  The presence of this dust cake improves the efficiency of the filter media, capturing small fine particulates. 

This filter media is 99% efficient in preventing particulates from entering the atmosphere, contributing to a cleaner, more sustainable environment.

Baghouse Solutions Utilizing Surface Filtration Technology

Surface filtration is essentially the 2nd generation of dry filter media. It consists of a substrate that is laminated with ePTFE membrane, specifically engineered to be the most efficient in capturing submicron particles. 

Unlike depth filtration, a dust cake is not required for surface filtration.  The ePTFE membrane laminate is a “man-made” dust cake that is microporous, allowing for air to pass and smaller submicron particles to be captured on the surface of the filter bag. 

Our filter bags made from this style of advanced filter media meet and exceed stringent Environmental Regulations related to Particulate (PM) Emissions, e.g. PM2.5, and are often used to ensure compliance with demanding environmental requirements such as:

• NESHAP (National Emission Standards for Hazardous Air Pollutants)
• MACT (Maximum Achievable Control Technology)
• CISWI (Commercial and Industrial Solid Waste Incinerator Units) and
• IPPC (Integrated Pollution Prevention and Control)

This filter media is 99.9% efficient in preventing particulates from entering the atmosphere, contributing to air pollution control and a cleaner environment.

Enhanced operating performance with ePTFE membrane laminate may include not only enhanced emissions control but also better bag cleaning, higher collection efficiency, and reduced energy costs.

With an ePTFE membrane laminate, reduced power consumption can be realized as less energy is required to clean the filter media. On average, a Cleanova | Micronics membrane filter bag will consume, on average, 50% less cleaning energy over its lifetime, compared to a non-membrane filter bag.
