Pressure Candle Filters

The Micronics Engineered Filtration Group offers a variety of Pressure Tube Candle Filters ensuring we can help you find the candle filter that is perfect for your application.

Pressure Tube Candle Filters are liquid-solid pressure tube filters that use groups of columnar filter elements sealed within a pressure vessel to produce a cake with dry solids and filtrate with high clarity. The number of candle elements depends on the filtration area of the Pressure Tube Candle Filter. During operation, a slurry enters the candle elements through the filter bag. The cake sits on the bag and filtrate is discharged through the central tube element. After the filtration cycle, the cake is discharged by back washing with compressed air or liquid stroke. Containment of the filtration process means these filters are ideal for processing solvents, concentrated acids, and other toxic products.

Pressure Tube Candle filters are well suited for applications that require efficient low-moisture cake filtration or a high degree of polishing. These filters can also be used for thickening to produce a concentrated flowable slurry by partial removal of the liquid phase as filtrate. Additionally, Pressure Tube Candle Filters are able to operate on very short cycle times, taking advantage of the high filtration rates while the cakes are still thin.
