What Can I do to Improve the Performance of my Old Filter Press?

Old FThere are a variety of things that can be done to improve the performance of an old filter press. A few ideas include:

  • Rebuilding or refurbishing your existing filter press to optimize its performance. Consider having Micronics make a site visit to evaluate and make recommendations to get your press operating more efficiently.   • Working with Micronics to ensure that you are using the best filter cloths for your process & application. You’d be surprised to see the improvements in filter press performance when cloth type has been optimized, especially if there have been process changes since it was first installed.
  • Making any adjustments needed to best match changes to your process, such as optimization of feed pump flow rates or reduction of drying times.
  • Expanding your filter press with the addition of more plates, if it has an expansion piece and if there is adequate space left. Contact us to discuss whether expanding your filter press is an option for your existing press.
