Founder Barry Hibble Will Continue to Serve on the Board of Directors and Act as an Advisor to the Company
Portsmouth, NH – September 1, 2013 – Micronics Inc., a global provider of aftermarket filtration products and OEM custom filter presses, announced today that Rick Weiler has been appointed president and chief executive officer of the company. Weiler assumes this position from Barry Hibble, Micronics founder, who will retire from the day-to-day management of the business, but remains on the board of directors and will act as an advisor to the company.
“We are excited to have Rick Weiler join us to lead Micronics into its next phase of growth,” stated Hibble. “Rick is a proven leader with deep sales and manufacturing expertise and strong business acumen. His experience and guidance will be invaluable as we work to capitalize on our growth opportunities in the United States and abroad.”
Prior to joining Micronics, Weiler served as president and chief executive officer at Atlas Material Testing, the world’s leading provider of weathering test instruments. Under Weiler’s leadership, Atlas was acquired by AMETEK, a publicly traded company, and he played an instrumental role in the successful integration of the two companies. Prior to that, Weiler was with PerkinElmer Optoelectronics where he was the general manager of specialty and commercial lighting and vice president of global sales and marketing. Weiler began his career with United Technologies and Allied Signal in engineering and operations. Weiler holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Dartmouth College’s Thayer School of Engineering and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
“Barry and his team of hard working and talented employees have built a tremendous company known for its quality filter presses, innovative solutions and customer-focused culture,” Weiler said. “Micronics has the potential to become the world’s largest provider of filter press cloth and a leader in filter presses. I am thrilled to be joining the company as it enters the next phase of its evolution and as we work to increase our scale and expand our footprint outside of the United States.”
