Micronics has put strong safety protocols in place for our office, sales, service, and manufacturing teams to ensure we have the best possible practices to minimize transmission risks, both internally and with visits in the field to our customers. More than just spacing, we have implemented additional deep cleaning and disinfection of our offices and plants, daily digital temperature checks, staggered break times, and the wide availability of masks and hand sanitizer for all of our employees, as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
Human Resources has put detailed processes in place for supporting our employees at this unprecedented time including a loosening of sick and time-off policies, and adjusted work schedules for those employees who need to quarantine/self-isolate or who need to make work-family adjustments due to COVID for childcare and eldercare.
Lead by a great operations team, Micronics has added weekend shifts in our filter media and filter press operations, and we have extended the second shift to get customer orders out on time. Micronics has two filter media plants in North America and this flexibility has been critical to servicing the filter media needs for both our pressure filtration and baghouse customers.
Supply Chain Optimization has been a key area of focus. During 2020 – amid the coronavirus pandemic – Micronics has been proactive to ensure that our global supply chain could supply the high-quality materials needed for us to perform at the highest levels to meet our customers’ requirements. Micronics’ supply chain professionals have secured long-term agreements (LTAs) with our primary partners to ensure uninterrupted supply and have put in place consigned inventory at our operations to provide our customers with best-In-class lead-times, often in the same week! To mitigate any risks for material availability, we have also diversified our global supply chain to include multiple qualified sources that meet all of our quality requirements.
